Carolina National is 27 championship holes comprised of three nine-hole courses, each with its own distinct characteristics and named for the large native birds that can often be seen during a round- the Egret, the Heron, & the Ibis. The course was designed to accommodate all skill levels, offering now six sets of tees (see The Short Course at Carolina National below for details) and at just over 7,000 yards from the tips, the course is sure to challenge even the accomplished golfer. A truly creative layout with multiple tee placements that considerably change the approach to many holes means the course offers an endless variety of playing experiences with stunning natural beauty along the banks of the Lockwood Folly River.

We think the best way to experience Carolina National is Freddie’s way- some great golf, a nice lunch, and a couple of cold beverages- and that’s exactly what you get with a Freddie’s special. Book Freddie’s 18 and play eighteen holes of golf with cart, that includes a lunch of your choice in our Plantation Grille and two beers or soft drinks.

Or for the true Carolina National experience, book Freddie’s 27 and play all 27 signature holes, designed by the 1992 Masters Champion, with the same lunch and two beers included. This is one of the best values you will find in golf anywhere.

The Short Course at Carolina National

The newest expansion of our golf offering is The Short Course at Carolina National. This set of tees is now in place on all three courses and is set up to play at 1,500 yards on each nine hole layout. The Short Courses allow players from varying ability and experience levels to play golf from appropriate yardages to build confidence, increase enjoyment of the game and the ability to maintain pace of play. These tees are also USGA sloped and rated to allow players to establish or stay current on their handicap when playing The Short Course. Ask for a Short Course scorecard on your next visit and give it try!

The Ibis Par 3 Course

Sunday afternoons also present another opportunity for a new experience at Carolina National. On select Sundays starting at 2:00 pm we turn our Ibis course into a 9-hole par 3 layout with hole-by-hole yardages modeled after that of the famed Augusta National Par 3 course. It's perfect for an easy Sunday afternoon out of the house whether you're just learning or out to sharpen your short game. Even better still... grab your friends, play Freddie’s 18 in the morning, enjoy the lunch & two beers, then head out to settle any remaining debts on the Ibis Par 3 in the afternoon!
